Primecoin

Discussion about Primecoin and its infra. Primecoin is a very innovative cryptocurrency, being the 1st non Hash-Cash PoW crypto, naturally scarce (not artificially), with very fast confirmations (1min), elastic readjusting reward & a useful mining (byproducts are primes). Primecoin is sustainable (miners are guaranteed to have revenues), and decentralized (ASIC/FPGA are not particularly advantaged). Sidechain for decentralized data applications (e.g. Storj) currently in development.

Not all Bitcoin Mining applications are trustworthy

It seems to me that not all Bitcoin Mining applications are trustworthy. The actual puzzling question is - what if some of them are created to donate some mining cents back to the mining software instead of us, Miners?

Is the Garmin Express Application mining bitcoin in the background or something.

It uses an insane 90% of my CPU, and 20% of my GPU, and I'm running a fairly nice gaming computer with a GTX 1080 and a quadcore i7. Why is it so resource intensive to update some maps?!

EDIT: to clarify, it would be used to run a bitcoin mining application.
The reason I ask is that we've been developing hard for the last few months to make it happen, at least for Starcraft2 players. The public beta test starts tomorrow, we're just working through some last-minute additions at the moment...
